The Fujitsu Stylistic is expected to ship in June this year.
With tablets becoming a more common device found in the workplace, electronics manufacturer Fujitsu is evidently looking to grab a bigger piece of the pie with the upcoming release of the Stylistic Q550.
The tablet recently became available for pre-order in the United States and is expected to ship in June this year.
Available in 30- and 62-gigabyte models, the Windows 7-based Stylistic is clearly intended more for enterprise use than consumer. With a slew of security features, including a fingerprint sensor and data encryption capabilities, the tablet is more likely to attract IT managers than those looking to play Angry Birds on the bus ride home.
The tablet also features an Intel Atom Z670 processor, 2 gigabytes of DDR2 memory, integrated Wi-Fi and comes equipped with Windows 7 Professional 32 and Microsoft Office Starter 2010. Fujitsu claimed the tablet has enough battery life to run for a standard business day and also includes a "quick-swap battery for all-day computer."
Few likely anticipate the Stylistic Q550 to dethrone Apple's iPad in the overall tablet market. But, according to a recent Forrester report, 26 percent of businesses plan to support tablet use within the next 12 months, meaning the enterprise market is open for more competition.
